Shanghainese AI Speech Evaluator

The work

You will help improve an AI chatbot’s Shanghainese speech. You will record audio prompts, generate AI responses, and evaluate how natural the pronunciation and fluency sound.

The content of each response is not rated. You will focus on accent, pronunciation, and fluency, repeating the process until two to five responses receive a perfect 7 out of 7 naturalness rating. Some tasks may take 10, 20, or more attempts.

• Record audio prompts in Shanghainese.
• Generate responses from an AI model.
• Evaluate pronunciation, accent, and fluency.
• Repeat the task until the required naturalness ratings are reached.

What it pays and takes

This is a part-time contractor role for someone with strong Shanghainese language knowledge and an understanding of how the dialect sounds in natural speech. Experience in speech evaluation, linguistic analysis, or accent validation is preferred but not required.

• Pay: $23 USD per hour.
• Time: Less than 20 hours per week.
• Location: Hong Kong or Singapore.
• Languages: Shanghainese and English.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience with Shanghainese; the role is listed as entry level.
• Equipment: Your own laptop or PC and a stable internet connection.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Shanghainese phonetics, accent variations, and fluency patterns.
