Figure 1
Revenue of the listed human-data companies, by year
What do the publicly listed AI data companies report as revenue, and how fast is it changing?
Sample. Whole-company revenue for each fiscal year as the company (or, for Toloka, its parent Nebius) reports it in filings and results releases, to 10 Oct 2026; a figure as first published, a restated one only where no original is recorded.
US dollars as reported. Appen reported in Australian dollars until 2020 (its restated US-dollar figure is used); TELUS Digital's quarters after its take-private are in Canadian dollars and are not shown here.
Most of TaskUs's and TELUS Digital's revenue is customer-experience and trust-and-safety work, not AI training data: their AI lines are in the segment figure.

Figure 4
Revenue by segment, full years
How large are the AI data lines inside the listed companies, and are they growing?
Sample. Segment and adjusted figures exactly as each company names them in its filings, full fiscal years, to 10 Oct 2026. The share is the segment over the same year's whole-company revenue in the first figure.
Segments are as the company defines them and can be redefined: Appen moved from Global Services and New Markets to Appen Global and Appen China in 2025, and some figures exclude its ended Google contract.
TaskUs defines AI Services as large language model support and data labelling, annotation, context relevance and transcription for training machine-learning models (2025 annual report).

Figure 5
How much revenue rests on one customer
How dependent are the listed companies on their largest AI customer?
Sample. The share of revenue the companies' filings attribute to one customer, to 10 Oct 2026.
Filings name the customer only where it is material and disclosed; Innodata's is described as one customer of its Digital Data Solutions segment.

Figure 6
Revenue and run-rates of the private companies
How large are the private human-data companies by revenue, and how fast have they grown?
Sample. 21 figures for private companies, stated by the company or reported by the press, to 10 Oct 2026, oldest first within each company.
Run-rate, ARR and annualised revenue multiply a recent month or quarter out to a year: they are not a year's revenue and are not comparable with a listed company's reported revenue.
Mercor's, micro1's and Handshake's run-rates are gross: they include what the companies pass on to the experts they pay.
Reported: from unnamed sources in the outlet linked, not confirmed by the company.

What the listed companies expect this year
What revenue do the listed companies guide to for the current year?
| Company | Period | Guidance, as stated |
|---|---|---|
| TaskUsTaskUs, Inc. press release, SEC Form 8-K Exhibit 99.1 | Q3 2026 | $300 to $302 million (Q3 2026 revenue outlook) |
Sample. The latest guidance each listed company has stated for 2026, to 10 Oct 2026.
Guidance is a forecast and may be revised; each row is dated.

Figure 8
Take-private deals
Which listed human-data companies have been or were to be taken private, and on what terms?
Sample. Each step of the take-private deals as the companies' filings state it, to 10 Oct 2026.

Figure 9
What the companies say about their workforce and payouts
How many people do these companies say work on their platforms, and how much do they say they pay?
Sample. 87 claims by the companies themselves, or reported, to 10 Oct 2026.
These are the companies' own figures, often marketing: a registered contributor is not an active worker, and a payout total is not pay per hour.

For labs, data vendors and researchers
Buy the data behind this report
The figures above are a summary. Behind them are records we collect ourselves, every day:
9,572 roles tracked, each with its history
Every role on 29 job boards, read daily since 13 Jul 2026: its pay and place, and the first and last day it was open.
6,200 apply clicks in 28 days
Which roles people actually apply to, by field, pay and kind of work. It happens on this site, so nobody else can count it.
39 lab and vendor hiring boards
The job boards of 25 AI labs and 14 human-data vendors, read every day: who is hiring for human data, and who is hiring to buy it.
What you can buy
The records
The rows behind any figure, with their history, not only the totals.
A regular feed
The same figures every week or month, as files.

Method and definitions
Annual reports, quarterly results and regulatory filings of the listed companies; statements and press reports for the private ones, each linked beside its figure. Every row links the publication it is taken from, with the figure as that publication states it; nothing is estimated or converted. Each figure states what it includes beneath it.
- Revenue
- What a listed company reports for the period in its filings or results release, in US dollars as reported.
- Run-rate and annualised revenue
- A recent month or quarter of revenue multiplied out to a year, as a private company or the press states it. Not a year's revenue, and not comparable with reported revenue.
- Stated or reported
- Stated: the company or a filing gives the figure. Reported: an outlet reports it from unnamed sources.
- Workforce claim
- What a company says about the people on its platform (contributors, experts, countries, payouts), as it says it. A registered contributor is not an active worker.
What this data cannot tell you
- Compiled from public sources: an event that was never announced or reported is missing, and private companies' figures are what they or the press stated, not audited.
- Fiscal years differ between companies, and a listed company's revenue includes work beyond AI training data.
- Workforce and payout figures are the companies' own and are rarely defined or audited.
How the job feeds are read and roles are classified: site methodology. How fresh, complete and consistent the data is, checked every day: data quality and coverage.
Editions
The live report is the dataset as last reviewed; new events are added as they are published. Each complete month is also published as an edition, frozen two days after the month ends, so a figure you cite from an edition never moves.
